To obtain an apostille from the the Secretary of State, Jason Kander, in Jefferson City for Missouri issued documents follow, the guidelines:

Considerations for:
Birth certificates must be certified copies from the Missouri Bureau of Vital Statistics signed by the state registrar. If you need a new certified copy of your birth certificate please, contact the Dept. of Health and Senior Services, Bureau of Vital Records.

Marriage certificates must be a certified copy from the Recorder of Deeds in the County of the marriage or from the Bureau of Vital Statistics.

Divorce statement documents must be certified copies issued by the Circuit Clerk of the County where the divorce occurred. If you need a new copy, please contact the appropriate county recorder of deeds.

School Documents issued from the Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Missouri, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the Saint Louis University, the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Webster University and Missouri State University among others, must be notarized certified copies by the school registrar, notarized in the back (not the face of the diploma).

Notarized documents must have a complete notarization, including the notarial acknowledgement, notary's seal and signature form a commissioned notary.

Other documents executed by circuit clerks, recorders of deeds, judges and county clerks must bear the signature and/or stamp of the appropriate office.
